Ami Tea & Sub, a family-owned establishment, embarked on its journey in 2018 as a small vendor in Calgary’s vibrant Chinatown. Originating from Taiwan, the heart of Taiwanese milk tea, and Vietnam, known for its bánh mì, our story is rooted in a quest to bring authentic flavors to the local community.
Our motivations stem from the realization that familiar tastes hold immense power, particularly when you find yourself 12,000 miles away from home. We understand how a subtle hint of coriander leaf, nestled within the savory embrace of marinated satay beef, can evoke profound cultural connections. We envisioned merging these flavors with the richness of specially-brewed Taiwanese black milk tea to create a unique culinary experience.
