On July 1, gather with friends and family to celebrate Canada Day in downtown Calgary. Enjoy a day full of lively performances and activities that highlight our country’s diversity, including an Indigenous showcase and powwow, live music, cultural performances, food trucks, and more. The day will culminate in a spectacular fireworks show above Stampede Park shortly after 11 p.m.
Event Highlights:
- The Confluence Historic Site & Parkland Main Stage Show: Join Emcee Megan Pierson at 4:30 p.m. for a free, all-Canadian lineup of musical performances.
- Indigenous Showcase and Powwow: Experience the rich culture and traditions of Indigenous communities through performances and an artisans market.
- Cultural Activities: Visit the Teaching Tipis and Trapper’s Tent, the Cultural Carousel, and enjoy a variety of food trucks.
- Family Fun at St. Patrick’s Island: Enjoy live music across three stages, a Calgary Fire Department water vessel display, face painting, airbrush tattoos, playgrounds, picnic spots, and more food trucks.
- Olympic Plaza & Municipal Building: Enjoy performances by Alberta musicians, multicultural performances, an Indigenous digital art exhibit, children’s sport and art activities, and even more food trucks.
- East Village Street Fair: Calgary’s destination event drawing over 25,000 visitors. Attendees can enjoy a lively atmosphere featuring more than 50 vendors, food trucks, musicians, all-ages activities, Pup Plaza, and the 5th Street Square Beer Garden.
End the Day with Fireworks
The festivities will end with a spectacular fireworks display at approximately 11 p.m., launched from Stampede Park. For the best viewing experience, head to The Confluence Historic Site & Parkland. Note that onsite viewing at Stampede Park is not available due to Stampede setup, and vehicle access to west Ramsay (Scotsman’s Hill) will be restricted.
