This Calgary mall is attempting to break a world record at their pancake breakfast

Calgary’s Most Iconic Stampede Breakfast Just Went Full Guinness

Every summer, Calgarians know the drill: wake up, cowboy up, and chow down on stacks of fluffy pancakes. But this year, CF Chinook Centre is flipping the script — literally. The beloved mall is turning its 65th annual Stampede breakfast into a record-breaking bash. Their goal? Serve more pancakes than anyone else in the world. The current benchmark for most pancakes cooked stands at 76,382 pancakes, established by Batter Blaster LLC. Over 25,000 hungry guests are expected, and you could help make breakfast history.

Pancakes, Parties & Pancake Challenges (Yes, Really)

The main event kicks off Saturday, July 5 from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the east parking lot. It’s not just free pancakes — think live entertainment, family fun, and an outdoor retail market. But before that? Things get weird (and awesome). On Friday, July 4, teams will tackle a “Wheel of Disadvantage” pancake stacking contest — ever tried stacking 65 pancakes with oven mitts on? The winning crew snags $2,000 for a charity of their choice.

Will Calgary Flip Into the Record Books?

Once the batter settles, a Guinness Awards Ceremony at noon will reveal if CF Chinook Centre officially becomes the pancake GOAT. Until then, bring your appetite, your squad, and maybe a bib — it’s going to be messy, fun, and very Calgary.
