Hero Pizza Shop Owner Facing Significant Financial Losses

A local Montgomery restaurant owner is dealing with ongoing operational and financial challenges following a water main break that affected the area on December 30.

Saud Abbasi, owner of Pizza Bae, assisted in helping several families reach safety during the flooding caused by the break. In the days since, his business has been impacted by limited customer access and a boil water advisory, making regular operations difficult.

According to Abbasi, the advisory has led to increased costs, including the need to rely on bottled water, while reduced foot traffic has further affected daily business. These challenges are not unique to Pizza Bae, as other Montgomery-area business owners continue to navigate similar disruptions following the incident.

Pizza Bae Remains Open

Despite these hurdles, Abbasi and other local shop owners are focused on recovery and are encouraging community members to support local businesses in the area as conditions gradually improve.

Pizza Bae remains open while managing the ongoing restrictions, and customers visiting the Montgomery neighbourhood are encouraged to check ahead and support local shops where possible.
