Calgary Family Day Long Weekend Recap!

What’s good Calgary? Wow another weekend has come and gone, and what a jam packed weekend it was! We were on the go ALL long weekend long. What did you get up to this weekend?

We spent our Valentine’s Day at Limber Hollow checking out an old school type singles event. Folks spent their evening in a bar-like atmosphere with good drinks and cocktails on the menu, and spent the time mingling amidst each other, meeting new people and potential new partners! There were loads of people there, a great turnout for the venue which made it amazing to be a part of!

The next day was just as busy, jam packed with 4 Nations Face-Off action, where Canada and the USA faced off in one of the best hockey games in recent history. 3 fights to open the game? YES PLEASE! Then we were off to Stephen Ave to check out Saturday night’s lineup for Chinook Blast. Live music was the headline, roaming performances and fantastic art installations were the icing on the cake of this exuberant winterrific festival!

We capped off the weekend checking out the FIS Freestyle Halfpipe Ski World Cup! New Zealand’s Finley Melville Ives took top spot in the men’s competition, while Canada’s Brendan Mackay took 5th place. For the women, China’s Fanghui Li took 1st place while Rachael Karker of Canada claimed bronze!

Holiday Monday was a great chance to recover from the busy events of the weekend, so we took some time to relax and have a day indoors. Music, cooking, and movies were enough to help us recharge and prep ourselves for another busy week of Calgary living!

What was the best part of the weekend? Did you spend it busy as heck like us or did you enjoy a relaxing long weekend, or maybe a hybrid of the two?
