A Big Top Return at Stampede Park
After dazzling audiences across the globe, Cirque du Soleil is setting up its iconic Big Top at Stampede Park from August 30 to Oct. 19, 2025. The show, titled ECHO, first launched in 2023 and now makes its highly anticipated Calgary debut. For Cirque fans, it’s a long-awaited return — the first since Kooza lit up the city in 2023.
What to Expect from ECHO
This isn’t just acrobatics and costumes — it’s a story about the bond between humans and the animal kingdom. At its core are two best friends, Future and Ewai the Dog, who encounter a mysterious cube that transforms into the central set piece of the production. Think gravity-defying stunts, wild costumes, surreal storytelling, and that signature Cirque blend of dream logic and athleticism. The cube itself becomes a character, assembled and dismantled as performers explore the power of human actions and their ripple effects on the world around us.
Why ECHO Feels Different
Cirque describes the show as an exploration of repetition, rhythm, and the echoes that connect living things. The performances pull inspiration from both natural movement and structured science — a visual mashup of instinct and intellect. With this being Cirque du Soleil’s 20th Big Top show, ECHO carries both history and innovation under its canvas. Expect a mix of heart-stopping spectacle, surreal storytelling, and moments that stick in your head long after the tent comes down.
